how to access science resources on the VLE
get on the internet as usual
go to http://woodchurchscience.edublogs.org
look for VLE tab across the top and click it
enter the VLE using the link
enter your network username and password
you are now in the VLE
down the left hand side is a long list
look for ‘curriculum’ and click it
look for ’science’
choose your year and the resources will display in the middle

the government wants opinions from science teachers in order to shape the new GCSE Science curriculum. obviously the consultation process is enough to put anyone off so this site (http://howscience.co.uk) makes it easier for teachers (or anyone really) to sound off about what’s right and/or wrong about science teaching in the uk.

there are some resources available from bp education services about climate change (posters, leaflets, teacher notes). i have some copies if you want some for your lessons or if you want just a poster for your room i have 4 left…see me first come first served…

here’s a flash oscilloscope for showing sound waves. this one actually works properly! use it in unit 8l (sound and hearing).

instructions:
press ’start’ button
turn cro on with the red power button
drag any cable from the bottom to ch 1
adjust amplitude by adjusting voltage.
you can overlay displays by adding another cable to ch 2.
