cakes in space…a physics problem
Posted by: woodchurchscience in ks3, ks4, miscellaneous, physics, questions, warrena spaceman bakes a cake in his spaceship then launches it out of his spaceship window. how long will it take to cool down?
secondly if he could collect it again say six weeks later would it be safe to eat? any thoughts leave a comment.

Wouldnt the cake get hotter as it goes towards Earth or any other planet since of the gravitational pull.
My answer is it wouldnt cool down and once it lands a dog will eat it unless i get to it first.
It wouldnt be safe to eat because the cake would have like be gone by the time he gets there. And it will take a while finding the cake!

Hi sir,
The answer to this question is that it will never cool down and yes it will still be safe to eat six weeks later. This is because as discussed in lesson space is a vacuum so nothing will happen to it.

1) IT WILL BE SAFE TO EAT 6 WEEKS LATER ( IF IT HASN’T FLOATED OFF ! ) AND ALSO …
2) IT WILL NEVER COOL DOWN CUZ THE SUN WOULD JUST WARM IT BACK UP AGAIN ! I THINK 8) ! …
